Yu Mikami (三上 祐典) is a Japanese video game designer and director, best known for his work on the Resident Evil franchise. He was born on January 19, 1968, in Osaka, Japan. Mikami began his career as a game designer in the late 1980s, working for Capcom where he created some of the most iconic horror video games of all time.
His most notable works include directing the first Resident Evil game, which was released in 1996, and its sequel, Resident Evil 4, which was released in 2005. Mikami has also worked on other popular video game franchises such as Devil May Cry and Onimusha.
In addition to his work as a game designer and director, Mikami has also founded his own game development studio, Tango Gameworks, in 2010. Tango Gameworks has released several critically acclaimed games, including The Evil Within, and its sequel, The Evil Within 2.
Mikami is considered one of the most influential figures in the video game industry and has won many awards throughout his career for his contributions to the gaming world.
